Pain Relief

Ellipse offers Swedish and Indian head massages that are tailored to your particular needs.

Why Choose Swedish Massage?

Swedish massage uses a variety of different strokes and movements to help relax the muscles and relive you of your everyday aches and pains. Massage boosts the circulation, flooding the skin and muscles with nutrients, which increases muscle repair post workout as well as providing gentle stretching and deep relaxation.

Can my treatment be tailored to my needs?

The pressure used will be tailored to your needs and your therapist will be more than happy to focus on any problem areas.

Why Choose Indian Head Massage?

Indian Head massage is performed either seated or lying down, and can be performed either on top of clothes or on bare skin. Indian head massage is great for relieving tension in the shoulders, neck and head as well as stimulating lymphatic drainage and circulation.

What does treatment involve?

If you are having a full body massage you will be asked to undress down to your underwear, removing your socks and bra. Your therapist will begin by discussing any problem areas with you and the depth of pressure you prefer. The fronts of the legs, abdomen and arms will them be massaged and you will be turned over. The backs of the legs, back, neck and shoulders will then be massaged. A course of treatment may be advised in order to get the full benefits of massage.

With Our 30 minute massage, you can choose from a back, neck and shoulder massage, leg massage, or a variety of the two.

During an Indian head massage the upper back, neck and shoulders are massaged using a variety of different massage techniques, building in intensity. The head is then massaged using pressure points and stroking techniques.

Who can have massage?

Massage should not be performed on anyone who has any undiagnosed musculoskeletal complaints. The advice of a doctor should be sought first if you are suffering any musculoskeletal pains. High blood pressure may also be increased with massage and you should be advised by a doctor before treatment. Due to the stimulating nature of massage, anyone suffering from cancer or anyone in remission from cancer should not receive massage.
